Chinese trade irritants remain

Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue says despite China’s recent purchase of U.S. soybeans, several serious ag trade irritants remain.
Talking to reporters earlier this week, Perdue pointed to tariffs on American DDG’s as an example of what he calls a Chinese wall that needs to be taken down.

“We call upon the Chinese government to allow (DDG’s) into their country.  We think poultry should be readmitted into China.  We’ve given them all the evidence, (and) they’ve audited all of our processes.  These unfair trade restrictions are exactly what President Trump is talking about.”

The President is currently in China, the third stop of his five-nation tour of Asia.

U.S. and Chinese officials announced a trade deal this week worth $250 billion involving U.S. aircraft manufacturer Boeing, General Electric and data company Qualcomm.
