Class III base price a little lower

The November base milk prices are: Class II $18.81 up 37 cents from October but 45 cents lower than November of 2011. The Class III base price is $20.83, down 19 cents from October but $1.76 above a year ago. Class IV base is $18.66 per hundredweight, up 12 cents from October and up 79 cents from last November. Component prices per pound for November: butterfat $2.0218; protein $3.7171: nonfat solids $1.333: other solids $0.4624.

National Dairy Products Sales for the week ending December 1: cheddar blocks averaged $1.92 per pound down 7.7 cents, barrels lost 7.9 cents to average $1.84; butter fell 14.6 cents to average $1.71 per pound; dry whey was 0.3 cents higher at 65.7 cents per pound and nonfat dry milk increased 1.1 cents to average $1.53.

Bi-weekly Global Dairy Trade auction in New Zealand Tuesday: the average price of all products declined 2 percent from the last sale. Anhydrous milk fat was up 3.7%, rennet casein increased 0.3%, skim milk powder down 1%, milk protein concentrate down 1.2%, cheddar cheese down 2.4 percent and while milk powder down 3.5% from the last sale.
