Cong. Fudge hopes to be voice of reason
11th District Ohio Congresswoman Marcia Fudge hopes to be the voice of reason when the House and Senate Conferees begin work on the Farm Bill.
The Congresswoman, whose District includes Cleveland and Akron, has been vocal on some aspects of the Farm Bill, including the nutrition title, even so, the Congresswoman tells Brownfield she believes in collaboration and says it’s time to get this done.
“I think every single person, or I would hope every single person knows how important it is to get this done,” said the Congresswoman. “We know we have farmers and ranchers that are struggling just as we have every day Americans in urban communities that are struggling, so I’m really hopeful that everyone knows it is time to do this and make it works as quickly as we can.”
But so far, Congresswoman Fudge says there’s been no word on when the conference committee will get to work on hammering out differences between the House and Senate Farm Bills.
“I am more than willing to try to come to some center as it relates to both farmers and as it relates to those who are in need of nutrition programs, and try to put those things back together,” Fudge said. “So people can understand we do need to have them working in tandem to make this country what it ought to be.”
