Corn, sorghum harvest ramps up in Kansas and winter wheat planting begins

Corn harvest in Kansas picked up speed last week with nearly a quarter of the crop harvested.

21% is in and 22% is good-to-excellent with 83% dented and 50% mature. Soybeans are 25% good-to-excellent with 91% setting pods and 27% dropping leaves.

2% of sorghum is harvested with 17% good-to-excellent.

Winter wheat planting is underway with 3 percent in, on pace with the five-year average.

Pastures are 8% good-to-excellent.
