CPTPP to move forward

The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) will move forward now that six of the 11 Pacific Rim countries have ratified it.

The agreement will go into effect December 30th,  after a 60-day waiting period.

Australia became the sixth country to ratify the agreement after Canada, Mexico, Japan, Singapore, and New Zealand.

Trump pulled the U.S. out of the TPP in January 2017.

Brunei, Chile, Malaysia, Peru, and Vietnam are the other countries in the CPTPP.
