Emergency grazing on CRP extended

Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack announced today a two month extension of emergency grazing on Conservation Reserve Program lands to help producers manage the drought. Farmers and ranchers in dought-affected states already approved for emergency grazing on CRP land will now have through November 30th this year – without more rental payment reductions.

Producers have to submit their request through their local Farm Service Agency office.

Vilsack also announced the designation of 147 more counties, in 14 states as natural disaster areas, the majority due to the drought.
