Energy, Agriculture and Politics

Energy, agriculture and politics were the topic of discussion at a breakfast meeting in Indianapolis Monday, October 18, hosted by Ice Miller LLP.

“We believe it’s very important to highlight these issues and make sure the issues of our clients come to the forefront, not just in terms of satisfying their legal needs, but in public policy issues,” said Melissa Proffitt Reese, chair of Agribusiness Strategies at Ice Miller LLP. “And we continue to have forums like this and engage the dialog and promote discussion.”

For Indiana Lt. Governor Becky Skillman, it was an opportunity to talk about three of her passions energy, agricultural and politics. And for those attending, the Lt. Governor hopes they have a better understanding of what the potential is in Indiana when it comes to both agriculture and energy development.

“We’ve had an awful lot of investment in Indiana just as a direct result of the market and our very favorable business climate,” Lt. Governor Skillman said. “I think it does indeed make a difference to investors that Indiana is a fiscally sound state and an economically sound state.”
