Enrollment begins Monday

sign-up for the 2012 Direct and Counter-Cyclical Program or Average Crop Revenue Election Program begins January 23 and continues through June 1, 2012.  Julia Wickard, Indiana Executive Director of USDA’s Indiana Farm Service Agency says it is critical for producers to begin the enrollment process as soon as possible and encourages Indiana producers to contact their local offices to avoid missing the deadline. 

Producers who choose to participate in either the revenue based ACRE safety net or DCP safety net must enroll their farms each year. 

Wickard reminds producers the 2012 sign-up period is a shorter timeframe than previous year.
