Ethanol supply, production up on week

U.S. ethanol production and stocks both moved modestly higher last week.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says production averaged 926,000 barrels a day, up 8,000 on the week, but still 97,000 from a year ago as uncertainties about demand linked to COVID-19 continue to restrict production.

Blending demand was fractionally lower.

The domestic supply was 520,000 barrels higher at 20.270 million barrels, which is 3.097 million under last year because of the decline in production.

The USDA’s next corn for ethanol use estimate is out September 11th.
