Extreme weather causes problems for Wisconsin farmers
Extreme heat and multiple thunderstorms caused problems for Wisconsin crops and livestock last week.
The USDA says heat indices in the triple digits stressed animals, while wind damaged crops and farm buildings.
The muggy weather was credited with creating a greenhouse-like atmosphere, as corn and soybeans put on a burst of growth.
And abundant soil moisture helped mitigate the stress to crops statewide.
