Farmer concerned Big Oil has too much pull in D.C.

A southern Minnesota farmer concerned about small refinery exemptions says Big Oil has too much pull in Washington.

Lawrence Sukalski of Fairmont tells Brownfield he’s heard the oil industry has a lobbyist for every elected official and cabinet member in D.C.

“So that’s what we’re up against. That’s why people should join Minnesota Soybean Growers, Corn Growers, donate to their pack. We are up against some big dollars.”

He says rural America needs to speak up to let President Trump know about the damage EPA is doing.

“Not just for farmers, not just for ethanol people. But our citizens.”

With two ethanol plants in Martin County where Sukalski lives, he says he’s seen the harm of RFS waivers throughout local communities.
