Farmers say there is still a lot of uncertainty with crops

Northeastern Indiana Farmer Sarah Delbecq says there is a lot of uncertainty with this year’s crops.

“I think everyone’s in this boat of the crops are growing and it could be worse, but I think the amount of uncertainty that there is regarding what will be there when the combine gets there is pretty much at the top of everybody’s mind, ” she says.

She grows corn, soybeans, and wheat in DeKalb County.

West Central Indiana Farmer Carter Morgan says this growing season is one to remember.

“From July 2 until last night, my house had less than a half inch of rain,” he says. “I think as a whole our crops look okay, but definitely wet early and dry now is probably not the best combination,” he says.

He grows corn, soybeans, and wheat in Vermillion County.
