FMC introduces Freedom Pass

An ag chemical manufacturing company in the process of acquiring DuPont’s crop protection business has launched a program they say gives farmers more choices.

Matt Hancock, regional business manager for Philadelphia-based FMC Corporation, says the Freedom Pass adds value by freeing up growers during the decision-making process.

“A lot of the value-back and value-added to growers over the last few years has kind of come with constraints if you will.  It’s been tied to seed technology and sort of in a way of doing things the manufacturer’s way.  And FMC has kind of turned that around.”

The incentive program offers agronomic rewards, product financing, performance assurances, and application innovations.

Hancock tells Brownfield the fact that FMC is not tied to individual seed companies allows for this type of flexibility.

“That gives us a lot of freedom to just say ‘grower, understand the pest spectrum and weed spectrum you’ve got.  Understand the best chemistries and strategies to control those pests and weeds, and FMC will support that decision.”

The Freedom Pass is available to growers who purchase FMC crop protection products from authorized retailers.

Hancock says those retailers can also answer questions about the program.
