Food Dialogues today in Missouri

The Missouri Farmers Care Coalition is sponsoring a Food Dialogue session today on the campus of the University of Missouri, starting at 2:00 pm Central. It’s in partnership with the U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance (USFRA) to bring all aspects of agriculture together to discuss modern food production and answer consumers questions and concerns.

Missouri Farmers Care Executive Director Dan Kleinsorge says it’s about all styles and types of agriculture food production, “The idea is to find common ground and that’s kind of the theme of our event. It’s not about this system versus that system, it’s how can all these systems can work together to meet consumer demand and feed our country and feed a growing population. It’s really not about promoting one style (of agriculture) over another. It’s just about having this dialogue with the experts.”

On the panel will be farmers, agronomists, geneticists, dietitians, grocers and restaurateurs.  The discussion will be live-streamed on the Missouri Farmers Care Website at www.mofarmerscare.com where you can submit questions via twitter (#foodD), or through Facebook or via email to [email protected]

Past Food Dialogues have been held in New York, Chicago and Ohio. Future Dialogues are also scheduled for North Carolina and Boston.
