From FFA President to National Advisor, leadership comes full circle

Thirty years ago this week Dr. Travis Park was giving his retiring address as National FFA President.  This week, he’s leading his first National FFA Convention as the National FFA Advisor.

He tells Brownfield a lot has changed.  “Since 1993 we have more than doubled, nearly tripled the size of our National FFA Convention,” he says.  “We’re nearly four times as large in our membership today than we were thirty years ago.”

Park says the organization has grown since it began 96 years ago and will continue to evolve. In fact, he has big goals for the National FFA Organization’s 100th Anniversary.  “To have 100% membership across the nation in every FFA chapter by the 100th Anniversary,” he says.

He says he wants members to leave this convention with great ideas.  “There’s been a lot invested in you, let’s take those back home and improve FFA throughout the nation,” he says.
