FSA deadline nears

The deadline is quickly approaching to report acres for all crops and land uses, including prevented and failed acreage.  Julia Wickard, State Executive Director of USDA’s Farm Service Agency in Indiana reminds producers accurately reporting acres can prevent loss of benefits for a variety of FSA programs.  “Indiana FSA understands the stress on crops and producers themselves during the 2012 crop year growing season,” Wickard says.  “We want to be certain that producers are aware of the date associated with timely filing.”

All cropland on the farm must be reported by July 16, 2012.  Failure to do so directly affects the producer’s eligibility for FSA program payments.
