Good start to harvest for southern Minnesota farmer

Harvest weather has been favorable for many farmers across southern Minnesota.

Rochelle Krusemark of Trimont says they finished cutting soybeans Monday and have 400 acres of corn left.

“Harvest is progressing really well, the weather has cooperated.”

She tells Brownfield yields have been more consistent in corn.

“All year the meteorologists have been (talking about) scattered, pop up showers, well I think it was more like the rain playing hop-scotch. So the soybeans varied over 25 bushels, depending on how much rain you got and when you got it.”

Krusemark says rain in the forecast the next several days will help recharge soil moisture.
