Good week for corn, soybean export inspections

The USDA reports corn and soybean export inspections for the week ending November 10th were above what’s needed to meet USDA projections for the 2016/17 marketing year.

Wheat came out at 191,062 tons, down 321,341 from the week ending November 3rd and 137,817 lower than the week ending November 12th, 2015. For the 2016/17 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 12,347,367 tons, compared to 9,666,847 in 2015/16.

Corn was reported at 618,155 tons, 311,029 less than the previous week, but 236,244 more than this time last year. So far this marketing year, corn inspections are 10,795,443 tons, compared to 5,928,537 a year ago.

Soybeans were pegged at 2,785,428 tons, an increase of 114,181 on the week and 545,814 on the year. At this point in the marketing year, soybean inspections are 19,082,295 tons, compared to 16,319,058 a year ago.

Sorghum inspections totaled 4,405 tons. That’s a decrease of 77,958 tons from the week before and a drop of 270,416 from a year ago. 2016/17 sorghum inspections are 697,103 tons, compared to 2,392,038 in 2015/16.
