Grassley wants biodiesel incentive in jobs bill

Senator Chuck Grassley told reporters earlier this week he and Senator Max Baucus have been working on getting the biodiesel tax credit renewal in a Senate jobs bill package that would include 72 other provisions that have or will expire. Grassley says weather in DC last week has pushed work on the tax bill backwards. Grassley says it comes down to this, “I mean, we’ve gotta decide – do we want a biodiesel industry or don’t we?”

Grassley says EPA gave biodiesel somewhat of a boost in its renewable fuels mandate announced last week but it’s unlikely that alone would keep the industry vital and growing, without the one-dollar a gallon tax incentive.
