Great Indiana State Fair kicks off today

The great Indiana State Fair officially opens today.  Indiana State Fair Media Relations Director Andy Klotz says this year – fair goers will have the chance to celebrate the Year of Dairy Cows.  “Dairy always has a really good presence here at the fair, especially with the Dairy Bar that people are already familiar with,” he says.  “But we’re also going to have a lot of special events this year, too.”  He says that includes “Cowtown USA” where people will be able to visit and take part in the process of milking a cow.

In addition to celebrating the Year of Dairy Cows, Klotz tells Brownfield they are also celebrating the Hoosier Spirit.  “It’s going to be a 17 day celebration of what Hoosiers are really all about,” he says.  “In particular how they give of themselves to help someone else.”

The 2012 Indiana State Fair kicks of today and runs to August 20th
