Greenleaf Foods to invest $310 million in Indiana facility
Greenleaf Foods SPC, a plant-based food company, has announced plans to expand in Indiana, and invest $310 million in a manufacturing facility.
The Shelby County facility, which is expected to become the largest plant-based protein facility in North America, will create 460 jobs and is slated to open in 2020.
Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb says the groundbreaking is a significant milestone for Indiana and he’s confident the state’s skilled workforce will support the company’s growth for years to come.
The company is planning for a 230,000 square-foot facility on nearly 60 acres of land that will double its production capacity.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Greenleaf Foods SPC up to $5 million in conditional tax credits and up to $1 million in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans.
