Harvest activity in Kentucky advances, still behind average

Corn and soybean harvest continues to advance in Kentucky, but is still running behind the average pace.

Corn harvest is 69% complete and 95% mature.  Soybean harvest is 40% complete with 76% dropping leaves and 72% rated good to excellent. 

Tobacco is 26% stripped, with 42% of the housed tobacco in good to excellent conditions.

Winter wheat is 21% planted with 5% emerged.

Pasture conditions held steady, but just 33% is rated good to excellent.   

Topsoil is 44% adequate and 2% surplus and 3% surplus and subsoil is 49% adequate and 1% surplus.
