HSUS, King continue war of words
The war of words continues between the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and Iowa Congressman Steve King.
In a video posted on the HSUS web site, the group’s president, Wayne Pacelle, calls on supporters to help prevent the so-called King amendment from being included in the final farm bill.
“Congressman Steve King is taking aim at dozens of state laws that help animals,” Pacelle says. “This is the same guy who has opposed federal legislation to crack down on dogfighting and horse slaughter, and even to block a law to help pets in disasters. Now he wants to wipe out state laws that help animals.”
King, meanwhile, refers to HSUS as the “Vegan Lobby”.
“Their agenda is to take animal products out of our diet—meat off of our plate, is how I say it,” says King. “What they’re trying to do is raise the cost of production so they can reduce the consumption and turn us all into vegans—and we should understand their agenda.”
King’s amendment, which is aimed at California, would prevent one state from regulating livestock production practices in other states. King is a member of the Farm Bill conference committee and has indicated he will fight to make the provision part of the final farm bill.

I am Not a Vegan, I am Not supporting any organization, but I truly Believe That Mr. King is the Off. His Cracker! I think that if you wad all his sentences up together what you get is Animal Abuse is Great! Yep, cause there is No relationship or Factual proof that they are trying to stop tge Entire USA from eating meat. And If you believe Mr King I have some swamplamd in GA with a sinkhole the size of Chicago ill sell you to build a house on! This King Dude is a mental trainwreck and no one should take this paranoia seriously.

King Is Paranoid I never heard such an obnoxious rant. Sad, they all go downhill in credibility sometime. No one should buy his line a babble…..If hes been like this for awhile, they should get him some help.
King obviously understands the H$U$ very well, and animal lovers are truly fortunate to have someone in an authoritative position who is willing to stand up to the “Vegan Lobby” (love that reference!). If one looks at the wording of the amendment, Pacelle’s hyperboles and downright lies about its effect are obvious.
