The increasing risk of inbreeding in dairy

As the process for selecting bulls in the dairy industry becomes more refined to selecting particular genetic traits there is an increasing chance of inbreeding. Robert Fourdraine with Ag Source says while a farmer may select a bull with a sire that has never been used in his herd, it may have some of the same family lines that his cows have.
