Indiana invests $2.3 million in clean water initiatives

The Clean Water Indiana program has awarded more than $2.3 million in grants to 26 projects across the state to improve water quality.

This year’s awards will fund soil and water conservation district staff, farmer cost-share programs, geospatial research, and other landowner resources.

The Indiana Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts’ Urban Soil Health Program and the LaPorte County district received the largest grants.

Funding can range up to $300,000 for projects that reduce runoff from non-point sources of water pollution.

Clean Water Indiana is managed by the state’s soil conservation board and led by the Indiana State Department of Agriculture.
