Iowa cooperatives to vote on merger
Two Iowa farmer cooperatives are taking the next step towards a possible merger.
The boards of directors for Ames-based Farmers Cooperative Company and Ralston-based West Central Cooperative have voted to proceed with a merger vote by members of both cooperatives. Ballots and voting details will be mailed to members later this month and the votes will be counted on December 18th.
If approved, the new organization will be one of the largest cooperatives in the country.
