Is Minnesota’s corn crop meeting expectations?

A market analyst says while Minnesota’s corn crop might not meet expectations, it will still go down as one of the largest on record.

Mark Schultz at North Star Commodities tells Brownfield with harvest advancing across the state, this looks to be a very good crop.

“You may not see the yields that a lot of people expected (like) 230’s, 240’s and 250’s.  We don’t see that happening as much.  But on the flip side, you’re not finding anything of significance below the 180 bushel per acre, either.”

He says USDA may increase the Minnesota corn yield when the next production report comes out in November.
