Missouri crop conditions improve

Missouri crop conditions improved last week with both warmer weather and scattered showers. A third of the state’s corn crop is in fair conditions while more than half is in good to excellent shape. Seven-percent of the corn crop is silked, that’s 10 days behind the average.

Soybean conditions are the same as corn. One third of the Missouri crop is fair, while nearly two-thirds is good to excellent. Ninety-three percent of soybean planting is complete which is catching up to normal.

Eighty-percent of the crop is emerged — one percent has bloomed.

Winter wheat harvest took a big jump from the week before. More than half the crop was harvested as of Sunday. That’s a week behind normal.
