Missouri winter wheat rating improves

Slightly higher than average rainfall in Missouri has boosted winter wheat condition ratings.

The USDA says 73% of the crop is rated good to excellent, compared to just 44% at the start of 2023, with average statewide rainfall up about two tenths of an inch on the year, but drought conditions continue to cover most of the state.

The USDA’s weekly national crop progress and condition reports resume in April.
