More HPAI cases detected in Iowa

Highly pathogenic avian influenza has been detected at two more poultry facilities in Iowa.

The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship says the affected sites include a flock of commercial layer chickens in Taylor County and a mixed species backyard flock in Jones County.

If poultry producers suspect signs of the virus in their flocks, they are urged to contact their veterinarian immediately.

Iowa now has 11 confirmed cases of HPAI this fall.
