NCGA asking members to urge USMCA vote

The National Corn Growers Association is urging its members to urge their members of Congress to ratify the USMCA, “Waiting until 2020, when election-year politics will likely derail its passage, is not an option.”

NCGA says it’s a top priority for farmers across the country and points out there are few congressional work days left in the year.

With the House in recess this week, they say it’s the perfect time for farmers to contact their representatives.

NCGA says the USMCA preserves and builds on the corn industry’s successful relationships with Mexico and Canada.

Last year, those countries imported more than 21 million metric tons of U.S. corn and corn co-products valued at $4-and-a-half Billion dollars, supporting more than 300-thousand farms.

It’s up to Speaker Pelosi to bring the USMCA up for a vote.
