Nebraska FFA fundraiser underway

October marks the beginning of the Nebraska FFA Foundation’s annual “I Believe in the Future of Ag” fundraising campaign.

FFA Foundation executive director Stacey Agnew says this the third year for the “I Believe” program.

“It’s an opportunity for any individual donate to their local FFA chapter through a tax deductible donation through the Foundation,” she says, “and what’s real exciting is every dollars that is donated for that chapter goes directly back to that chapter.”

Agnew says the FFA Foundation has also raised enough money through corporate sponsors to offer 23-thousand dollars in matching funds to chapters.

“So as a donor, that local chapter is going to get above and beyond what your donation actually is,” she says. “So it’s a really nice program.”

Agnew says the campaign helps local FFA chapters raise money for innovative projects in their classrooms, leadership programming, community service projects and field trips to advance agriculture education in their schools.

The local campaign runs through January 31st, 2014. To make a donation, contact your local FFA chapter or go to neffafoundation.org.
