Nebraska State Fair’s livestock facilities continue to impress
The new executive director of the Nebraska State Fair wants to bring more national livestock shows into Grand Island.
Lori Cox, who took over as executive director of the state fair in January, says she was blown away by what she saw during her first visit to the fairgrounds.
“When I walked in and saw these facilities, it was just like I could not believe it,” Cox says.
It presents a great opportunity, Cox says.
“I see us as a ‘livestock mecca’ here. I see this as an opportunity to draw more and more national shows, of all kinds, to these facilities year-round.”
Cox came to Nebraska from Montana, where she was general manager of the Big Sky Country Fair in Bozeman.
The Nebraska State Fair is underway and continues through Labor Day.
