The USDA is seeking nominations for a new advisory committee focused on urban agriculture.

The twelve-person committee will advise the Secretary of Agriculture on policies related to indoor, urban, and emerging ag production as well as the needs of urban producers.

The group will include four producers, two professors or extension agents, two individuals with related experience and one person from each of the following; a nonprofit organization, a financing entity, business and economic development, and an individual with supply chain experience.

The creation of the committee is an implementation of the 2018 Farm Bill in addition to the establishment of the agency’s Office of Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production. Nominations close March 5th.
