OMB finishes review of EPA ethanol rule

The EPA’s proposed rule on ethanol emissions—known as RFS2—is another step closer to being made public.

The EPA confirms that the Office of Managementand Budget has completed its review of the proposed rule. However, EPA did not reveal any details of the rule or when it would be made public.

The proposed rule aims to cut emissions from renewable fuels by ranking biofuels by the amount of pollution they emit over theirlifetime. The big question is whether the EPA has used an indirect land use formula in their calculations.
