USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has made several modifications to this year’s Conservation Stewardship Program application process.

Associate Chief for Conservation Leonard Jordan tells Brownfield the updates improve transparency, flexibility and overall ease of the signup process.  “We have heard from producers, participants around the country as well as our own employees that asked for a more transparent, flexible and simpler program”

Jordan says the Conservation Stewardship Program is the nation’s largest conservation program impacting more than 70 million acres. Farmers can learn more at their local USDA service centers or at the NRCS website.  Sign up runs through February 3rd.
