Russia targets Ukraine’s alternative export routes

Russia continues to attack Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.

Greg McBride, director of brokerage for Allendale, says some of Ukraine’s alternative export routes along the Danube River have been hit by missel strikes. “They haven’t completely knocked out river logistics at this point, but they have disrupted it severely.”

He tells Brownfield the attacks have increased hunger concerns for some of the world’s poorest countries. “There is still conversations about world food security with the lack of movement, or slow movement, there out of Russia and Ukraine.”

McBride says Turkey’s president has been pushing for Russia to rejoin the Black Sea Grain Initiative, but talks have stalled.
