Showcase blends crop inputs, food processing
The Tenth Annual Ag Innovation Showcase brings together the science of agriculture inputs with the processing of food. Consumer concerns about food production make it necessary to bring crop inputs into the same conversation as their end product, food, said Rohit Shukla founder of the event. It’s not, according to Shukla, just about increasing agriculture production.
“It’s also about increasing the nutritive capacity of the plants we produce, said Shukla Monday before the Showcase opened, because that then drives the considerations of human consumption, and interest in food.”
The Showcase, held at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center in St. Louis, revolves around presentations from agriculture technology start-up companies and keynote speakers addressing issues of farm and food production.
