Soil moisture up in Nebraska

Improved precipitation has raised soil moisture levels in Nebraska.

The USDA says nearly half of top soil and about a third of subsoil in Nebraska have adequate to surplus soil moisture levels, not ideal, but better than this time last year.

48% of Nebraska’s winter wheat crop is rated good to excellent, compared to 39% a year ago.

The USDA’s weekly national crop progress and condition reports resume in April.
