South Dakota winter wheat rating rises

The USDA’s winter wheat rating for South Dakota was up from January to February.

58% of that crop is in good to excellent condition, 5% more than a month ago and 35% above a year ago.

That’s largely to improved soil moisture levels thanks to a shift in the weather pattern.

The USDA’s weekly crop progress and condition reports resume in April.
