Spring fertilizer applications begin in MO

Missouri farmers are starting spring fieldwork.

Chris DeMoss, the director of plant foods with MFA Incorporated, says conditions are right for adding nitrogen to the field.

“Many farmers started on Friday and wrapped up over the weekend. We can go from a few tons to a lot of tons applied in a short period of time. Over the next week, we should see big movement.”

DeMoss says there’s also good demand for phosphate and potash and fertilizer prices are better this spring than in previous years.
