Tax package welcomed news in Ohio

The one year extension of both the ethanol and biodiesel tax credit, and an extension of the estate tax is welcomed news, but Tadd Nicholson, Director of Government Affairs for the Ohio Corn Growers Association (OCGA) says work still needs to be done.

“A two year extension for the estate tax is nice, it’s good, but it’s not giving our farmers a lot of ability to plan their estate, so we still have a lot of work to be done,” Nicholson said. “The ethanol and biodiesel tax credit getting extended for a year, again, it was a nice turn of events for us, but again one that we are going to have to continue to work on in the next year, on what the next phase is.”
