Tennessee harvest progressing through dry conditions

Dry weather allowed for ample harvest progress in Tennessee last week, but negatively impacted winter wheat, rye and pasture seeding.

The USDA reports as of Sunday 92% of corn, 73% of soybeans and 62% of cotton is harvested.

Winter wheat planting reached 49% complete with 25% emerged. The agency rates the winter wheat crop 62% good to excellent.

Pasture conditions are just 24% good to excellent with subsoil moisture considered 46% adequate to surplus.
