Things looking good at the Wisconsin State Fair

The 161st Wisconsin State Fair is underway in West Allis, Agriculture Director Brian Bolan says Junior Fair livestock numbers are good and the animals coming into the fair are in great shape. He expects the same when the open class animals come in.

The Ohio State Fair sent a couple of hogs home on Thursday after it was discovered they had H3N2 influenza, the virus had shown up at a couple of county fairs in Ohio and Indiana in recent weeks. Bolan says they have been tracking the situation in those two states and are keeping a close eye on everything at Wisconsin. He invites fairgoers to visit the barns but be sure to wash their hands at any of the numerous wash stations set up around the grounds.
