Three Missouri 4-H members attended the National 4-H Conference in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Sage Eichenburch of Prairie Home, Kayla Taylor of Leeton and Rachel Grubbs of Sikeston represented Missouri 4-H members at the conference.

For Eichenburch and Grubbs, the 4-H conference was their first visit to the nation’s capital.

4-H delegates prepared briefings for federal agencies on youth policy ranging from agriculture, bullying and entrepreneurship to distracted driving, opioids and renewable energy.

Eichenburch is a first-year student at the University of Missouri, Taylor is a sophomore at the University of Central Missouri and Grubbs is a freshman at Three Rivers College. Missouri 4-H specialist Steve Henness calls it a high honor, considering only three young people from Missouri are chosen to attend. The state has more than 55,000 4-H members.
