U.S. ethanol stocks tighten

U.S. ethanol stocks fell to a near one-year low last week.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says supplies were down 227,000 barrels on the week at 22.468 million, a new 40-week low according to the Renewable Fuels Association, even as average production was up 12,000 barrels from the previous week at 1.036 million a day.

The industry continues to watch margins and trade negotiations, while waiting for potential policy changes.

The USDA’s next corn for ethanol use estimate is out Friday.
