Vilsack applauds swift FTA passage

U.S. Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack says the passage of the three trade agreements by Congress will not only increase market access for US farmers and ranchers it will support tens of thousands of US jobs and trade adjustment assistance for American workers.

Vilsack says he’s pleased that both Houses of Congress acted so swiftly to ratify them.

“Immediately upon implementation of these agreements, the majority of American products exported to Korea, Colombia and Panama,” Vilsack says, “Swift action by Congress also helps us to maintain an advantage on competitors striking their own trade deals with these nations.”

USDA has fact sheets online on all three agreements and how they will benefit U.S. agriculture: U.S. FTA with KoreaU.S. FTA with Colombia and U.S. FTA with Panama
