Weather slows corn planting in Nebraska last week

Unfavorable weather slowed down corn planting in Nebraska.

The USDA says only 6 percent of the crop has planted compared to 17 percent a year ago and the five-year average of 15 percent.

Soybean planting is 3 percent finished compared to 7 percent a year ago but on pace with the five-year average.

Winter wheat condition rated 40 percent good to excellent.

Seventy-five percent of topsoil moisture is adequate or surplus, sub soil moisture is 64 percent adequate or surplus.
