WPS Farm Show focuses on technology

BrownfieldAppImage The Wisconsin Public Service Farm Show has provided farmers with the tools and innovations to be successful for a half a century.

Manager of the WPS Farm Show Rob Juneau tells Brownfield the show started 56 years ago as a way to promote rural electrification. Today he says the Wisconsin Public Service is trying to help farmers save electricity.  “We’ve changed with the way the farming industry has changed.”

He says several of the 540 exhibitors are featuring ways to reduce labor and improve efficiencies.  “Good help is hard to find so it’s more robotics—almost every milking equipment dealer here is featuring a robot now.”  He says, “Ten, 15, 20 years ago there were robots out there but they weren’t as popular as I think they’re going to start becoming.”

Farm seminars during the show will focus on farm succession, legal advice and manure management.
