CME milk, cash dairy mostly lower again Wednesday

Milk futures and the cash dairy markets were mostly lower Wednesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. 

March Class III milk was up $0.01 at $16.53, but all other months were down.  April was down $0.25 at $16.00.  May was down $0.35 at $16.51.  June was down $0.22 at $17.22.  

July through January contracts ranged from unchanged in January to seventeen cents lower in October and December.  Wednesday’s Class III trade volume was 2,970 contracts. 

Dry whey was down $0.0050 at $0.41.  No sales were recorded.  

Forty-pound cheese blocks were unchanged at $1.49.  No sales were recorded. 

Cheese barrels were unchanged at $1.6250.  No sales were recorded. 

Butter was up $0.0225 at $2.85.  One sale was recorded at that price. 

Nonfat dry milk was down $0.02 at $1.15.   One sale was recorded at that price.
